![]() ![]() Or his mother, but she and Nyx had been talking about her next leave for Olympus, and Zagreus did not plan to add to his mother’s worries.Īlthough…maybe she could talk to Artemis directly for him? But for now, Zagreus had a few more fights to go through. Zagreus frowns perhaps he should enquire to Achilles or Meg about it, next time he spots one of them. The bow in his hand cooled down at once, Artemis’ interest fainter now. Nope, Zagreus sighed as yet another fight started between the two of them, Artemis’ happiness echoing through his whole arm, his weapon comfortably warm during the exchange of blows that saw the Fury defeated, vanishing in a swarm of bats. “Hhhh…hhaaaa…” Oh? Was she actually feeling happy about it- “haaaAARG!!!” “Tell you what- you let me pass without a fight, and maybe I’ll try and see if Father can have a bow made just for you, instead of your usual whip. “Hmm? Do you like it?” The prince asked, doing a little flourish with an arrow carrying Artemis’ mark. Tisiphone’s dead eyes fell upon the weapon, a strange glow passing in her eyes as she, too, noticed the bow’s reaction to her presence. “Ah, it’s you today, Tisiphone! Or tonight? I can’t tell until I’ve made my way out just yet.” Zagreus greeted lightly as he entered the room, his bow immediately starting to vibrate harder in his hand. “Odd.” Zagreus simply commented, finishing his short rest before picking up his bow though one to solve family issues, he still had bigger fish to fry on that instant than think about it further, at least not until he had reached the surface or died trying. Alecto perhaps? Though more in the murdering him sense than the helping him. Or was it a lady thing? No, he was pretty sure neither Nyx nor Megara would act this way, and especially not Dusa either. Perhaps Artemis was just holding a grudge at someone else coming to his help before her. The boon vanishes before Zagreus can even finish his sentence. Lady Aphrodite offered me her help, and-” Why did she sound so…accusatory, almost? Was she that excited to fight against Tisiphone? And it wasn’t like she was the one doing so Zagreus was still the one holding the weapon, after all… ![]() Taking the time to finish eating the food luckily stored in a pot he had just emptied of its content, Zagreus frowns at the tone used by his cousin. “Did you just fight the Tormentor of Murder?” were Artemis’ first words when Zagreus heard her next in Asphodel, her green symbol standing out among the striking red hues of the lava. Perhaps Artemis was just more inclined to fighting other green ladies, Zagreus thought. The excitement was strong enough to make his weapon glow, shaking so much that on occasion Zagreus’ grip had loosen long enough for the Fury to get a hit or two on him. But if it was Tisiphone sent to stop him… A strange excitement, that would only grow in intensity until he reached the last chamber.Įven more odd, it would dull out abruptly whether Meg or Alecto -especially Alecto- were the one waiting to fight him. It was very faint, but it felt like there was some sort of… feeling? Echoing through his weapon. Zagreus started to notice something strange with Artemis’ boons, whenever the goddess brought him support in Tartarus. Thus, the matter had been all forgotten just like half his memory of the feast, Dionysus’ wine having affected everyone by the end of it.īut someone didn’t forget. What sort of boyfriend would Zag be if he didn’t try to rescue Death incarnate with a smile and a bit of ambrosia? Perhaps he should have gone after her, but just then, Ares had clapped his shoulder with a large grin and pulled him into a conversation with Thanatos who seemed flustered by War’s special attention to him. So different in fact, Zagreus had heard from a passing shade how Artemis had easily sneaked out of the House of Hades during the feast in which both sides of the family finally reunited, disappearing into Tartarus. His cousin had been right she definitely was different from the rest of their boisterous, messy family. Not…face to face per say, but via whatever power the gods’ boons held. Those were words the Goddess of the Hunt herself had spoken to Zagreus, however long ago it had been since they first met… well. ![]() ![]() Look, I'm not like all the others on Olympus.” ![]()
